On January 15, 2019, PLT Artistic Director, Meilinda, with the support from English for Creative Industry Program and the Faculty of Languages and Literature, invited representatives of seven universities from Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI) to a kick-off meeting addressing the opportunity to establish a higher-education network of English-language performing arts.
The meeting was fruitful and the participants agreed to establish EPACI (English Performing Arts Consortium in Indonesia). EPACI wishes to prepare human resources in English performing arts that are well set to go global without overlooking Indonesia's cultural roots.
EPACI was inaugurated at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta, on March 23, 2019, marked by PLT's performance of "A Story of Wounds".
EPACI founding-members are: Petra Christian University (Surabaya), Sanata Dharma University (Yogyakarta), Udayana University (Bali), Sebelas Maret University (Surakarta), Satya Wacana University (Salatiga), Maranatha Christian University (Bandung), Soegijapranata Catholic University (Semarang).
Petra currently holds the chairperson position of EPACI.
